Another year is coming to a close and once again it is time to think about New Year’s Resolutions: Yes, I will find more time to quilt and I will explore a new technique. Perhaps some embroidery, wool applique, fabric painting or maybe try your hand at “Big Stitch” quilting. QP’s classes offer a variety of creative crafts in addition to quilting. Snuggle under a cozy quilt and look over our new class schedule for some exciting projects to spark your imagination.
One class/workshop that will definitely spark your creativity is with Sue Spargo. QP is thrilled to offer a class/workshop with her in April. Sue is an outstanding international artist, famous for her contemporary folk-art designs using textural fabrics such as wool, velvet and silk. She adds fabulous fibers including yarns, hand dyed chenille, ribbons, sea grass, perle cotton and beads for embellishment. You will be treated to an exciting experience in creativity. See more information on page 2.
New to our teaching staff is John Egbert. His “Ornament” quilt took first place in a recent “Challenge in Red” exhibit here at QP. Check out his class for this amazing quilt on page 5.
Not to be missed are the new Block of the Months starting soon. In our Block of the Month programs you will receive fabrics and/or materials to complete one block each month. Blocks can be picked up at the shop or mailed. Mailing charges are exactly the postal rate for each block. This is a great way to tackle a large quilt project one block at a time.
Announcing New Store ours at QP: Beginning in December 2011 we will be closed on Mondays, except for Monday, Dec. 26, we will be open for Double Punch Day. Starting in January 2012 we will be open on Thursdays until 8:00pm for evening shopping.
We thank you all for your friendship and loyalty to QP. May the happiness, joy and blessings of the holiday season be with you and your loved ones throughout the coming year.
Fondly,
Barbara, Colette, Kathy and the staff at Quilters’ Paradise
